Last week, some BGC lab members took part in the British Ecological Society Annual Meeting (BES 2024) held in Liverpool, UK. With more than 1,600 attendees, this year’s event was the largest BES Annual Meeting ever, bringing together ecologists from all over the globe.
Our lab members, Tiantian Zhang and Andrea Tonelli, presented their respective works on transboundary protected areas and global hotspots of mammal-borne viruses. While the weather in Liverpool was quite cold, the warm atmosphere of the conference made up for it. They had a great time reconnecting with old friends and meeting new potential collaborators.
With BES 2024 now behind us, we’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to gather with the scientific community and share our findings.
