The impact of global change on ecological integrity: connecting environmental and human risks
Project updates:
- March '26: The project has officially started and we are currently organizing the sampling campaign, which is expected to begin around May and June

The project will explore how global environmental change is reshaping the delicate connection between ecosystem integrity, ecosystem functioning, and human societies. By studying insect communities across six European mountain landscapes, the project aims to reveal how ecosystem degradation affects environmental and human health. Using a macroecological lens, we will predict how global change is altering some of the key insect-mediated functions as well the circulation of viruses transmitted by insect vectors.
We will open several positions in the coming years: project manager, entomologists (incl. field operators), ecologists, macroecological modellers, disease ecologists/parasitologists
