On the 28th of August the new learning module “Scenarios on Climate Change” was launched on the European Nature Academy website, and it is now freely available from this link. Produced under the NaturaConnect project, the module is part of the NaturaConnect Learning Platform, the project’s capacity-building hub that strengthens professional skills for designing and implementing the Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N). The module provides step-by-step reproducible examples (including the R code and the required datasets) to calculate three climate metrics, local velocity, analog velocity and magnitude, suggesting how to apply these metrics in conservation. The climate metrics are explained with practical applications for different planning levels (from local administrations and protected-area managers to national stakeholders), including suggestions for integrating climate exposure information into management plans, restoration projects and regional land-use decisions. The module also points to the downloadable data and example code so that users can reproduce the examples and exercises, adapting them to other regions or scenarios.
