On March 26th, the NaturaConnect project hosted the webinar "Navigating Climate Change: Methodologies and Applications for Conservation".
Lab members, Moreno Di Marco, Marta Cimatti and Valerio Mezzanotte, actively participated by presenting cutting-edge insights on climate velocity and magnitude analysis for Europe - drawn from our recent Global Change Biology paper on “The Accelerating exposure of European Protected Areas to climate change” (Global Change Biology). With the aim of safeguarding biodiversity amid rapid global shifts, we offered actionable
advice and suggestions to conservation and restoration practitioners, plus broader stakeholders joining the call. Our intervention contributed to the vital discussions on the TEN-N strategie, spotlighting multi-scale approaches to reach the EU 30x30 targets in the most climate-proof way.
The session aligned seamlessly with NaturaConnect's bold mission to co-create data and training for truly resilient protected areas. Resources from the event, including recordings, will soon hit the project's platforms, and registered participants should receive soon an email with all the details.
