On February 25th, our PhD student Michela Gabrieli welcomed the second-grade classes of the Falcone Borsellino School for a special visit to the entomological collections of the Zoology Museum at Sapienza. The program included a short introduction to the museum’s historical collections, followed by hands-on educational activities using stereomicroscopes and 3D models derived from X-ray scans of both larval and adult stages of various species.

Through these activities, students were able to explore the hidden structures and life cycles of insects up close, discovering aspects that are normally invisible to the naked eye. The experience aimed to spark curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation of insect diversity, highlighting their ecological importance and encouraging a more informed and respectful understanding of their role in natural ecosystems.
