Another conference, another opportunity for the BGC lab to share its exciting research!
Just last week, some BGC lab members joined the "BioSpace25 - Biodiversity insight from Space" conference hosted by the European Space Agency in Frascati, Italy. BioSpace25 is the first international conference focused solely on using Satellite Remote Sensing (SRS) to study biodiversity in all ecosystems – terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine.
The PhD student Tiantian Zhang and the Postdoc Chiara Dragonetti presented posters on their research. Tiantian's poster explored "New protected areas overlap more with humans and less with agriculture", while Chiara's focused on "The impact of global change on the distribution of mountain mammals and birds".
This conference provided a fantastic platform for them to engage with the wider scientific community and discuss their findings from diverse perspectives.
